COMITRONIC of France, a specialist in safety devices, has launched the non-contact interlocking system SUPERMAGNET, which provides a way to control the opening of small movable machine guards in hostile environments. COMITRONIC will attend the Total Processing & Packaging trade show in
The SUPERMAGNET units help to prevent the accidental opening of machine guards and control the opening of guards at the end of machine cycle in association with a delay module. The units can be also used for the control of doors in schools, banks, and so on. The SUPERMAGNET is sealed to IP65 standards and ensures reliability in hostile environments. Its non-contacting design guarantees less wear and higher tolerance to door misalignment. It has a zero activation radius, unlike a key-interlocking system for which the minimum distance is often 250mm.
The SUPERMAGNET range includes two versions – power-off locking with a holding force of 30DaN, and power-on locking with a 50DaN latching force (equivalent to 30KG and 50KG of latching power respectively). Models in dual-function latching and switching are also available. A coded non-contact safety switch with an ACOTOM®2 process is integrated into the SUPERMAGNET, which ensures tamper resistance and meets the EN954 safety category 4 standard when used alone with the safety module AWAX, and safety category 3 when wired in series. The built-in LED display indicates the status of auxiliary contact. The entire range is designed with a plug-in M12 connector for ease of installation. A removable or captive key can also be supplied.
