Coatings collaboration

DuPont and Russkie Kraski Corporation recently created a joint venture aimed at supplying automotive coatings to manufacturers of cars and commercial vehicles in Russia and some countries in Eastern Europe.

The new company, DuPont Russian Coatings LLC, will draw on technologies licensed from both partners.

DuPont is the world's leading manufacturer of coatings for the automotive OEM and refinish markets. Russkie Kraski is the Russian Federation's largest manufacturer of automotive coatings and resins.

The joint venture, headquartered in Yaroslavl, will supply local and international car makers in Russia, Belarus and Ukraine with coatings and provide full-scale technical support. Plans call for establishment of a new quality control and technical service laboratory in Yaroslavl staffed with scientists from DuPont and Russkie Kraski.

The company's product offering includes coatings for passenger cars, trucks and buses, including off-line painted plastic parts, and exterior and interior metal parts. Products will be toll-manufactured by Russkie Kraski or imported from DuPont manufacturing sites in Europe and elsewhere around the world.
