has filed suit in
against Saudi International Petrochemical, International Acetyls and International Vinyl Acetate to stop trade secrets being used in the planned construction and operation of vinyl acetate monomer and acetic acid facilities in Al Jubail,
.
‘Celanese commenced this action as part of its continuing efforts to ensure that its technology and other valuable intellectual property are not misappropriated or illegally used by our competitors,’ said John O’Dwyer, president of Celanese Chemicals. ‘Celanese will take all appropriate actions to protect its critical technological advantages.’
Celanese alleged, ‘The defendants, acting directly and through agents, among other acts, aggressively recruited and hired former or current Celanese employees, identified and retained engineering and construction firms that had extensive experience working on Celanese’s acetyl projects, and vendors and other suppliers with intimate knowledge of Celanese’s trade secrets.’
