The
SiemensPower Generation Group (PG) has secured a contract from Germany’s
Trianel Power Kraftwerk Hamm-Uentropto construct a new combined cycle power plant in Hamm-Uentrop, located in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The project is owned by municipal utilities from Germany, the Netherlands and Austria.
Siemens PG will construct the natural gas-fired power plant on the DuPont de Nemours site located in Hamm-Uentrop. Siemens says the power plant, to be completed by the autumn of 2007, will comprise two identical-design units, each with an electrical output of approximately 400 megawatts.
The PG scope of supply includes construction of the power plant, consisting of two gas turbines and two steam turbines, the associated generators, all mechanical equipment with one HRSG for each unit, as well as electrical and I&C systems. In addition, Siemens has a long-term contract with Trianel for maintenance and repair of the plant.
