Dominion, one of the US’s largest energy producers, has joined forces with BP Alternative Energy North America to jointly develop, own and operate wind energy projects in Virginia. Terms of the joint development agreement were not disclosed.
The deal is not the first struck between the two energy giants. In January, Dominion announced that it had joined BP as a 50 per cent partner in the Fowler Ridge Wind Farm in Benton County, Indiana. The Fowler Ridge facility is expected to be built in two phases and generate a total of 750MW of power.
Dominion and BP are partners for 650MW, with BP retaining sole ownership of 100MW. The first phase of the project is currently under construction and is expected to be operational by the end of 2008.
Earlier this month, Dominion also announced that it was going to develop a 300MW wind generation facility in Central Illinois. The Prairie Fork Wind Farm would feature 150 to 200 turbines constructed across approximately 25,000 acres in Christian and Montgomery counties, about 25 miles south east of Springfield.
Dominion's renewable portfolio includes nearly 1,300MW under development or in operation. This includes more than 750MW of wind energy.

I'd like to know where these are operating in the UK. The report is notably light on this. I wonder why?
