ANOTHER PACKAGING AUTOMATION APPRENTICE SCOOPS AWARD
Knutsford based Packaging Automation Ltd is maintaining its reputation as one of the best training grounds for young engineers in the country, as yet another of the company's young apprentices picks up an award.
Philip Muslek, who joined Packaging Automation last year, won the SETA (Stockport Engineering Training Association) 'Apprentice of the Year' award in recognition of his high standard of work and the timescale in which he completed his NVQ Level 2 Engineering units.
He left school after his GCSEs and took a two year OND Engineering course, before joining Packaging Automation, which manufactures high quality tray sealing and filling equipment for a number of industry sectors, on a mechanical engineering apprenticeship. He currently attends
In recent years Packaging Automation apprentices have picked up a series of awards and the company is committed to encouraging more young people to consider a career in engineering. The company works closely with local schools and holds an open door policy for any young people and their parents to visit and learn more about the business and the opportunities available.
Commenting after the awards, twenty-year-old Philip said: "I'm very pleased to have won, although I didn't expect it. I am now back at Packaging Automation and starting to put what I have learnt into practice. I am enjoying learning new things and am looking forward to working through my apprenticeship with the company."
He added: "I joined PA on the recommendation of a friend who works here and I would certainly recommend the company to other young people looking for a worthwhile career and good training."
As well as first class support and training, Packaging Automation also organises challenging team-building events for the apprentices - including an extended 19-day outward bound course.
