The first contract, awarded to an Alstom-led consortium by the Ecuadorian state-owned power supplier Hidropaute, is for turnkey supply of electrical and hydro-mechanical equipment for the 162MW new Mazar hydropower plant on
Alstom Hydro is responsible for the supply, erection, supervision and commissioning of two 100MVA generators, control monitoring and instrumentation systems as well as hydro-mechanical equipment. The first unit is expected to be in commercial operation by April 2009.
The second contract, valued at around €80m was awarded by C.V.G. Electrificacion
Alstom Hydro’s scope covers the complete refurbishment of 4 x 400MW Francis turbines and generators and associated hydro-mechanical equipment. The first unit is scheduled for commercial operation in the first quarter of 2009.
