Alcatel-Lucent
has been awarded a €10m contract to supply a 10 gigabit next generation IP/Ethernet network to Malaysian communication service provider
Telekom Malaysia Berhad(TM).
The solution consists of Alcatel-Lucent’s 7750 Service Router, 7450 Ethernet Service Switch, 7250 Service Access Switch and the 5620 Service Aware Manager.
The network will enable TM to offer services such as Virtual Leased Lines and Virtual Private LAN Services to its business customers. It will also form the backbone for future services such as triple play - a service bundle of VoIP services, broadband Internet and cable television/video-on-demand - with minimal further investment.
Alcatel-Lucent’s IP-based solution is built on a single unified IP infrastructure.
