Alba funding

Edinburgh-based Alba Bioscience has announced funding to create 16 new research and development jobs and develop novel technologies in life science diagnostics.
The company’s investment includes a £1.8m R and D grant from RDA Scottish Enterprise.
John Allan, chief executive officer at Alba Bioscience, said: ‘Some of the key factors of this award will be the creation and safeguarding of new research and development jobs, which will enhance our current scientific skills base and assist our growth.

Alba Bioscience manufactures diagnostic reagents and is one of the largest manufacturers of monoclonal blood grouping products in the world, with over 70 per cent of orders coming from overseas.
