Aircraft and tanker deals for Lockheed

Lockheed Martin has received an initial $128m from the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />US government as part of a $256.2m contract for three aircraft for the US Air Force and a tanker for the Marine Corps.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />.

Lockheed Martin has received an initial $128m from the US government as part of a $256.2m contract for three aircraft for the US Air Force and a tanker for the Marine Corps.

 

The C-130J-30 combat delivery aircraft ans KC-130J tanker are slated for delivery in 2010. This order brings the total number of C-130Js ordered to date to 186.

 

Known as the Super Hercules, features of the C-130J include its extended range with greater thrust, high-elevation and hot-temperature performance, enhanced situational awareness, enhanced defensive systems and operational flexibility. 

 

The US government has also awarded Lockheed a $78m initial contract for long-lead tasks related to the production of 18 new Advanced Block 52 F-16 aircraft for Pakistan.
