Corus’ Aluminium has secured a $550 million contract to supply 20,000 tonnes of aluminium plate and wide sheet per year for structural parts of the fuselage and wings of Airbus aircraft.
The five year contact itself will start in 2007 and end in 2011.
Corus Aluminium Walzprodukte in Koblenz, which manufactures high value rolled products, will supply Airbus locations in Germany, France, UK and Spain as well as worldwide Airbus subcontractors.
The aluminium will be used for all airplanes built by Airbus including commercial and military aircrafts as well as helicopters built by Eurocopter.
