Global commercial finance company, CIT Group has signed a firm contract with Airbus for a further 10 A320 Family aircraft.
With this order, the total number of aircraft in the Airbus order book for the CIT Group now stands at 199 aircraft, comprising 157 A320 Family aircraft, 30 A330s, seven A350s and five A319s for executive and private use.
John Leahy, chief operating officer, customers at Airbus, said: ‘This order confirms the important role that leasing companies have in the aviation industry, particularly in the current market situation.
‘It is also a re-affirmation of the continued success of our A320 Family, allowing CIT to offer the most modern and efficient single aisle aircraft on the market today.’
According to Airbus, around 6,300 A320 Family aircraft have been sold and more than 3,500 delivered to 280 customers and operators worldwide.
