Aggreko powers Angola

Aggreko has won a contract with Empresa Nacional de Electricidade (ENE) to supply 90MW of temporary power to Angola.

The 90MW will be in addition to the 60MW already installed in Luanda and Cabinda. As part of the new contract, the arrangements for the existing Luanda site are to be extended for a year.

Equipment for the contract will be installed in phases, with the initial 30MW due to be commissioned in December 2007 and the balance to be delivered in 2008. The overall value of the contract will be $45m.

The contract will provide enough power for up to four million people.

Aggreko International Power Projects now supplies electricity to 19 African Nations.
