The Ac28R is being developed by Pure Sourcery, a Bath company active in financial consulting services and headed by CEO and software architect Gary Thomas.
Described by the company as the ‘the holy grail of AI’, The Ac28R is claimed to be the first and only AI able to write complex accurate source code. In use, it allows developers to deliver instructions by connecting so-called Inverts, which are easy-to-use visual components that are detailed and comprehensive. The Ac28R analyses the component structure, builds the software, and then executes it immediately.
The first of three introductory Ac28R videos can be viewed below.
“Using The Ac28R, the traditional development process for the developer is practically eliminated since they do not even need to write code - they can immediately translate their business specifications into software using the Inverts,” said Thomas. “The Inverts enable the developer to specify exactly what they want to the tiniest detail without ever having to get their hands dirty with logical instructions. Inverts are connected together using a visual tool that allows them to be easily expanded and collapsed to manage detail. Built-in guardrails protect against inadvertent human error.”
Thomas added that the Inverts, of which there are over 1,100, are fully transparent and exactly match the resulting software; developers will be able to see exactly how their software works simply by reviewing the Inverts.
“The Ac28R has a proprietary logical engine that is able to analyse the Invert structure, build the software and execute it,” said Thomas. “There is no need for the developer to touch any intervening source code. The Ac28R does not even create source code but takes you straight to the executable.”
Pure Sourcery said The Ac28R is ‘capable of everything from industrial-strength software and enterprise databases, to complex Monte Carlo simulations and financial and risk models.’
Thomas said: “In terms of technology readiness, we are approximately at level 7; many principal subcomponents are far beyond the prototype level and close to complete, but there are still a few small things that need some work. We are continuing to add specialised libraries, but hope to have the product commercially available by the summer.”
