The Dhanonda substation is scheduled for completion in 2011 and will comprise 15 400kV bays and three 220kV bays, as well as three 315MVA, 400/220kV power transformers.
Other ABB products to be supplied include high-voltage circuit breakers, instrument transformers and PLCC (power line carrier communication) equipment.
The substation will also be equipped with an IEC 61850 substation automation system to facilitate open communication between various control and protection devices within the substation and beyond.
ABB will be responsible for the system engineering, civil works, supply, installation, commissioning and overall project management.
HVPNL is responsible for building, operating and maintaining substations and transmission lines in Haryana. Other recent ABB orders from HVPNL include the construction of seven 220kV and three 132kV substations, part of the state‘s initiative to upgrade its power transmission grid.
