Motorola and software company Wind River Systems have formed a strategic alliance to provide integrated Advanced TCA and MicroTCATM communication platforms with Carrier Grade Linux and VXWorks runtimes.
Under the agreement, the alliance will work to deliver bundled hardware and software solutions for the telecom, military and aerospace, medical and industrial automation industries.
They will also provide joint customer support, as well as collaborate on developing products such as the OpenSAF software, multicore processors and virtualisation technologies.
Ken Klein, CEO of Wind River, said: ‘Implementing fully tested, integrated, and validated solutions from Motorola and Wind River will help our joint customers to accelerate application development for Linux and VxWorks networking platforms.’
The first bundle, a MicroTCA-based COTS solution with Wind River’s Carrier Grade Linux, is available through global distributors Arrow Electronics and Avnet Applied Computing Solutions.
