IAE International Aero Engines announced recently that Mexican low-cost, start-up airline Volaris has selected IAE’s V2500 engines to power up to 56 Airbus A319 aircraft.
The order is made up of 16 firm and 40 options and, if all options are realised, the value of the order to IAE will be $950 million. Volaris has also chosen to back the engines with a long-term, IAE aftermarket agreement.

The 22,000-33,000lb of thrust V2500-A5 is available in seven different thrust settings to power the Airbus A319, A320 and A321 family of aircraft as well as the A319 Corporate Jet.
