Renold has developed a new, specially formulated lubricant for its long lasting chain, Synergy, that in tests has reduced initial wear by up to 50 percent. While the composition of the new lubricant is a trade secret, the result, the company says, is a significant improvement to the performance of a chain that already performs up to six times better than the highest quality competitor’s brand, according to laboratory tests.
Synergy was launched in 2000 setting a new industry standard in wear life and overall performance. The chain was designed to deliver improved fatigue resistance, and it performs, on average 30 percent better than other brands when subjected to repeated shock loading and heavy loads. The new lubricant is applied in the factory and Synergy is ready to go to work as soon as it comes out of the box. The chain should then be lubricated as normal while in operation.
According to David Turner, Renold Chain’s marketing communications manager, “Synergy is the only true high-performance chain on the market. Engineers and maintenance professionals around the world have come to rely on the wear resistance and exceptional working life of this remarkable chain technology. This new development shows our commitment to continual product improvement and providing our customers with even better performance and value.”
Synergy is available in British Standard sizes ranging from 06B to 24B in Simplex, duplex and triplex construction. It is also available in ANSI standard sizes ranging from 35 to 160 in simplex, duplex and triplex.
