has agreed to provide engines and technical support to three 2010 Formula One (F1) World Championship entries.

The FIA recently approved the package that will be provided for Campos Grand Prix, Manor Grand Prix and Team US F1 for a period of three years.

According to the deal, the Cosworth engine supplied must conform with the FIA regulations mandated for the 2010 F1 season.

Tim Routsis, the chief executive of Cosworth, said: ‘Cosworth is proud not only to be able to provide a solution that will deliver the performance needed by these teams to compete in this most technologically challenging sport, but also to extend its long association with F1 as a truly independent provider of competitive motive power.'

Cosworth's first F1 success was in 1967 when its DFV engine won first time out. It was the first F1 engine to be designed to function as a fully stressed element of the chassis.

The CA2006 Cosworth F1 engine was raced by the WilliamsF1 team throughout the 2006 season. The engine achieved a F1 landmark of 20,000rev/min during qualifying for its race debut at the 2006 Bahrain Grand Prix. The CA2006 Series 6 was capable of completing more than a third of a race distance at 20,000rev/min, which is currently a record.
